Barn (c. 1960)

Over the years, the Tehuacana campus grounds supported a variety of agricultural uses. Chickens and pigs were once raised here, and at other times the land was planted with gardens and orchards. Although the buildings once associated with these uses have disappeared, one survivor remains: a wooden barn built around 1960. Likely constructed from salvaged materials and used for storage, the barn stands at the rear of the campus as a notable example of a vernacular wood barn, built in the mid-20th century at a time when most outbuildings were beginning to be constructed of metal.
