Tehuacana was laid out in 1869 by the trustees of Trinity University, and a four block area (outlined in red) was set aside for the construction of the Trinity University campus.  Texas Hall (1871-1892) stands at the southeast corner of this core acreage, and in later years, Westminster College constructed a three story dormitory, workshops, and a barn. One block south, a wooden gymnasium was constructed, and later a 1930s bungalow was attached to the campus.

All of these properties are being acquired by Preservation Texas and will be the home of the Preservation Texas Institute.  Other 20th century buildings associated with Westminster College remain, while other structures from the 19th and 20th centuries associated with Trinity and Westminster have been lost.  We intend to recognize the historic significance of the campus with a National Register nomination for the "College Hill Historic District," which is in progress.
