Events
Events at the Preservation Texas Institute will fall into three main categories, each contributing to the vitality of the campus and its role as a gathering place. First, Preservation Texas–organized events will anchor the calendar and include major programs such as the Preservation Texas Hall of Fame induction gala, book festivals, exhibition openings, special screenings, performances, and demonstrations of historic crafts and trades. These events will celebrate preservation, culture, and community, while also supporting fundraising and public engagement efforts.
The second category includes community-driven events, which may take the form of annual festivals, commemorations, or collaborative programs with local partners. These gatherings will be designed in partnership with community members and organizations, reinforcing local pride and helping strengthen ties between the Institute and the people of Tehuacana and the surrounding region.
The third category involves hosted events, where Preservation Texas offers the campus as a venue for use by other groups, institutions, or organizations. The unique setting—combining historic architecture with inspiring landscapes—provides an ideal backdrop for educational conferences, nonprofit meetings, weddings, or cultural programs that align with the spirit and purpose of the Institute.

Venues for events include the auditorium and galleries inside Texas Hall, the 1933 Westminster Gymnasium, and a variety of outdoor spaces across the ten-acre main campus. Each location offers distinct character and scale, accommodating everything from intimate gatherings to large public celebrations. Through this layered approach to programming, the Institute will remain an active, welcoming site that invites people to connect with history through meaningful experiences.
